Aramark UK is currently seeking a skilled Culinary Team Manager to join our Defence sector. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the management of a large kitchen and supervising a team of Chefs and Assistants, ensuring seamless execution of each shift. You will report directly to the General Manager on site at Munster Barracks, Catterick Garrison.

A Day in the Life of a Culinary Team Manager:

  • You will oversee the management of a large kitchen or multiple kitchens with a team of Chefs and Assistants
  • Ensure tasks are allocated efficiently, with teams fully utilized and food preparation activities delivered using standard recipes and Aramark brand standards
  • Responsible for the efficient execution and delivery of all food line products in line with the daily menu
  • Conduct stock checks and ensure stock rotation is carried out correctly
  • Overall accountability for the performance of the Food Preparation team, including performance monitoring, record-keeping, recruitment, and development
  • Lead the team in using best practice Food Production techniques, adhering to Aramark systems and brand standards
  • Complete weekly audits in all locations for both back-of-house and front-of-house to ensure the unit delivers required standards and GP% - address any issues promptly
  • Determine the food offer from Aramark's standard menu to meet customer demands and ensure profitability
  • Handle customer complaints professionally
  • Ensure team meetings and daily briefings take place for all food items for every shift, providing necessary information and critical updates in partnership with the General Manager
  • Direct and coach team members to learn procedures and standards for all kitchen tasks, ensuring all training and development needs are met
  • Ensure complete compliance with food safety and health and safety legislation
  • Manage incidents, near misses, and health & safety issues in line with company policies, maintaining all paperwork and checklists
  • Support other sites when required

Requirements:

  • A genuine passion for food
  • Relevant culinary qualification (NVQ level 3 or equivalent)
  • Food Hygiene certificate (Level 3) or willingness to obtain through our e-learning platform
  • Previous experience managing a team of Chefs and working in a busy kitchen environment
  • Customer-focused, excellent communicator, and team player
  • Able to prioritize and delegate, supporting team members and leading them to success
  • DBS checks required
