About the Opportunity:

At Kinetica UK Ltd, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Microbiologist to lead our diagnostics development efforts in the Northwest UK. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for implementing company research strategies, identifying collaborative opportunities, and evaluating new research areas to expand our portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement company research strategies to drive innovation and growth.
  2. Identify and establish collaborative opportunities with academic and industry experts to advance our research.
  3. Evaluate new research areas and emerging technologies to expand our portfolio and stay ahead of the competition.
  4. Lead and review complex technical projects to meet strategic and commercial objectives.
  5. Champion microbiology expertise and build a professional profile as a key opinion leader in the industry.
  6. Contribute to broader company business and regulatory strategies to ensure compliance and success.
  7. Foster a work environment that promotes scientific challenge and innovation, and coordinates patent writing and conference presentations/publications.
  8. Represent the company to potential collaborators and maintain a network of key opinion leaders in the industry.
  9. Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure project success and compliance.
  10. Support regulatory filings and quality assurance functions to ensure our products meet the highest standards.

Requirements:
  1. PhD in Microbiology or closely related Biological Science with significant post-degree experience.
  2. Experience in antibiotic susceptibility research and familiarity with IVD regulatory requirements and landscape.
  3. Knowledge of clinical microbiology and relevant detection processes is preferred.
