Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Ambulance Vehicle Preparation Operative to join our team at Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust. As an AVP Operative, you will play a critical role in ensuring the preparation and maintenance of our frontline operational vehicles, adhering to strict protocols and guidelines to guarantee patient safety and operational efficiency.

Main Responsibilities
  • Process Ambulance Service Vehicles in a prescribed and controlled manner, ensuring each ambulance is fully equipped and prepared to attend and treat patients.
  • Conduct detailed cleaning and Infection Prevention and Control activities, checking and inspecting medical and lifting & handling equipment, restocking consumables, and completing vehicle checks.
  • Prepare consumables, manage stock control, re-fuel vehicles, and move them across various locations, recording all daily activities and repatriating equipment from Hospital Trusts.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain effective housekeeping of garage and associated clinical areas.
Requirements
  • Driving license with full Category C1 entitlement, valid in the UK.
  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team.
  • Ability to work unsocial hours on a 7-day/24-hour shift rota system.
  • Good literacy and numerical skills to pass required examinations and tests.
