About the Role

The Management Accountant role is a key position within the Financial Reporting Team at St John Ambulance. As a member of this team, you will be responsible for reviewing, reconciling, and preparing accruals and prepayments, ensuring that income is correctly accrued or deferred, and allocating indirect costs to support the production of timely and accurate management accounts.

About You
  • You will have significant experience in preparing and explaining accounting transactions, as well as experience with complex reconciliation of financial information.
  • You will possess advanced MS Excel skills and experience in using SUN and Proactis or similar accounting systems.
  • You will have experience in the preparation of forecast and budget information, and excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure that all financial transactions are correctly posted to the Sun Accounts to support the delivery of accurate and complete monthly management accounts.
  • Analyse, calculate, and prepare financial information, including detailed breakdowns of accrual, prepayment, deferred, and accrued income balances.
  • Maintain and develop accurate and timely reports, and review performance data to analyse material variances and follow up explanations and resolution with stakeholders.
  • Support the preparation of financial forecasts and budgets, and support the preparation of the year-end financial statements and the statutory audit.
