About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Caretaker to join our team at North Somerset Council. As a Caretaker, you will be responsible for supervising building services to ensure a safe and hygienic environment for our staff and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage designated cleaning and maintenance duties to meet defined standards and quality expectations.
- Manage stock and inventory to ensure efficient use of resources.
- Conduct safety checks and assist with risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
- Contribute to the management of security and wellbeing of the Centre.
- Assist with fire drills and emergency procedures.
Requirements
- Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations.
- Previous cleaning experience desirable.
- Experience with fixing and maintaining equipment.
- Experience of overseeing other staff or agencies.
- Ability to work with limited supervision.
- Training in COSHH and other safety training must be undertaken during initial period of employment.
- Basic ICT skills.
- Flexibility to work out of normal working hours.
- Good communication skills.
