Speech and Language Therapy Graduate Position

We are seeking a motivated graduate to join our team as a Learning Support Assistant in our SEN School. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience and develop your skills before pursuing a career as a Speech and Language Therapist.

You will be working in a small class, collaborating with the school's teaching staff and support staff team to deliver targeted interventions that enhance students' language development. You will also have the chance to work alongside experienced Speech and Language Therapists (SALT) and provide interventions to children with communication needs in small groups and one-to-one settings.

About Our SEN School

Our SEN School is situated near Epsom and caters for children aged 4-19 who require a tailored curriculum to help them thrive and reach their full potential. Our Therapy Department consists of Speech and Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists.

About the Job
  1. Support the class teacher in delivering the students' learning experience
  2. Provide behaviour and pastoral support
  3. Develop strong relationships with students
  4. Tailor your approach to meet individual students' needs
  5. Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  6. Show empathy and compassion towards students
  7. Be willing to work one-to-one and in small groups with students
  8. Ensure student safeguarding
  9. Attend staff meetings and engage in professional development

Essential Requirements
  • No prior experience is necessary.
  • A degree in Psychology, Criminology, or Social Science is preferred.
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is £90-£110 per day, Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 16:00, term time only. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with other professionals, gaining valuable experience and expanding your skillset.
