About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Community Engagement and Volunteering Officer. In this role, you will work closely with local communities to build trust and raise awareness of dementia and our information, support, and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend and organize events to engage with local communities and promote our services
  • Build relationships with community leaders and organizations to increase awareness of dementia
  • Manage volunteers across the region to support our community engagement activities
  • Work closely with the Local Communities and Volunteering Lead and Local Services Manager to deliver our planned community engagement activity
  • Create opportunities to stay connected with our volunteers through networking and events

Requirements

  • Experience of working with local communities and promoting awareness of dementia
  • Ability to build relationships with community leaders and organizations
  • Experience of managing volunteers and providing training support
  • Confident presentation and public speaking skills
  • Verbal and written communication skills to liaise with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Ability to provide solutions to concerns and issues using initiative to find resolutions
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively and prioritize workload effectively
