Job Title: Geotechnical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join our team at Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited. As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will be responsible for various tasks related to civil engineering projects across Europe.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct desktop studies and site walkover surveys to gather data and information.
  • Manage and oversee ground investigation works, from procurement to reporting.
  • Prepare contract documents, including specifications, mini Bills of Quantities (BoQs), and testing requirements for site investigations.
  • Review factual reports from site investigations and create interpretive reports that assess soil parameters, provide foundation recommendations, and address groundwater and contamination issues.
  • Coordinate with design teams for geotechnical design, offering options for ground improvement techniques and foundation strategies.
  • Calculate settlements and develop project specifications, which may involve both external standard specifications and in-house specifications.
  • Supervise technicians in creating detailed scheme drawings and attend design team meetings and client consultations.
  • Follow company procedures in accordance with the Quality System and contribute other general civil engineering skills as needed in various sections of the company.
Requirements:
  • A Degree in Civil/Geotechnical/Geoinformatics/Geology Engineering.
  • UK experience in Geotechnical Engineering, with good technical knowledge, proficient in the use of geotechnical analysis and design software, and an awareness of recent developments in engineering design and research.
