Job Title: Principal Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer to join our team at Kier Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a broad range of civil and structural related services in both Temporary and Permanent Works throughout the Kier business.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Temporary Works Design, with experience in designing and checking Temporary Works for projects of all sizes and across all sectors. They will also have excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage and mentor junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Temporary Works design and checking, above and below ground in all materials, integrated with Permanent Works design if applicable.
  • Delivery of alternative solutions and value engineering, enhancing Kier's reputation and competitive position.
  • Tender stage and bid winning support, focusing on buildability, efficiency, and innovation.
  • Technical assessment and review of 3rd party designs, ensuring compliance with the brief to meet client and Kier requirements.
  • Manage and mentor junior KPS team members.

Requirements:

  • Chartered engineer or looking to become chartered.
  • Interest in Temporary Works Design or experienced in already.
  • Full UK driving licence.
