Job Overview

This role is part of the Desktop Delivery Team and is based at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester. The successful applicant will provide support to the Trust's desktop environment and be responsible for maintaining all operational activities of the IT desktop technical environment.

The Desktop Engineer role is to support and maintain all operational activities of the IT desktop technical environment and the operational services it provides to its customers. The post holder will report to the Desktop Delivery Manager and collaborate directly with other members within the team and department.

The engineer is also expected to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the trust and its customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to the Trust's desktop environment
  • Maintain all operational activities of the IT desktop technical environment
  • Support and maintain all operational services provided to customers
  • Identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions
Requirements
  • 2 years experience of working with Active Directory
  • Good knowledge of MS Windows Operating Systems, SCCM, Windows Defender / LAPS / Encryption, WIFI, PC / Laptop & Printer Hardware and Microsoft Office / M365
  • Experience of using a computerised Helpdesk/Service Desk and Remote Control Support Tools
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes and Wireless technologies
