Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Trainee Accountant to join our client, a well-established independent firm in the professional services sector. As a Trainee Accountant, you will assist in the preparation of financial statements, work on bookkeeping tasks and tax computations, and support other team members in the Accounting & Finance Department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Work on bookkeeping tasks, such as reconciliations, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
  • Support other team members in the Accounting & Finance Department, including preparing reports and analyses as requested by management.
  • Participate in financial audits and collaborate with the audit team to ensure accurate and timely completion of audits.
  • Comply with regulations and guidelines in relation to accounting and finance, including financial reporting and tax compliance.
  • Attend training sessions and professional development workshops to enhance your skills and knowledge in accounting and finance.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and team members, providing excellent customer service and support.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 1 year's experience in an accountancy practice, preferably in a similar role.
  • AAT qualified or part qualified with an interest to pursue further qualifications, such as ACCA or CIMA.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, with attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and accounting software, including Excel, Word, and QuickBooks.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and responsibilities, with a positive and proactive attitude.
