About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Trainee Accountant to join our team in Farnham. As a Trainee Accountant, you will play a key role in assisting our experienced accountants in preparing financial statements, working on bookkeeping tasks, and supporting other team members in the Accounting & Finance Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements
  • Work on bookkeeping tasks, such as reconciliations and journal entries
  • Support other team members in the Accounting & Finance Department with tasks such as data entry and financial analysis
  • Participate in financial audits and collaborate with the audit team to ensure accurate and timely completion of audits
  • Prepare reports and analyses as requested by management, using data from financial systems and other sources
  • Comply with regulations and guidelines in relation to accounting and finance, including tax laws and financial reporting requirements
  • Attend training sessions and professional development workshops to enhance your skills and knowledge
  • Communicate effectively with clients and team members, both verbally and in writing
Requirements
  • A minimum of 1 year's experience in an accountancy practice, preferably in a similar role
  • AAT qualified or part qualified, with a strong interest in pursuing further qualifications
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and prepare reports
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and team members
  • Proficiency in MS Office and accounting software, including Excel, Word, and financial management systems
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy, with the ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and responsibilities, with a flexible and proactive approach to work
