The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our Brain Injury Rehabilitation team at NHS Lanarkshire. As a Specialist Occupational Therapist, you will play a key role in managing your own caseload, using evidence-based practice and client-centered principles to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions in both hospital and community settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage your own specialist caseload, using evidence-based practice and client-centered principles to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions.
  • Provide specialist advice to Occupational Therapy staff and other disciplines/agencies.
  • Develop specialist clinical skills and lead clinical audit and undertake research.
  • Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.
Requirements
  • Registered Occupational Therapist with valid HCPC Registration.
  • Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level.
  • Postgraduate expertise within speciality/area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safely, effectively, and efficiently.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality/area of practice.
  • Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies, and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice.
  • Leadership skills to enable the day-to-day management of service delivery.
  • Excellent team-working/leadership skills and ability to motivate others and work using own initiative.
  • Excellent listening, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Working knowledge of basic information technology.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Practice education training and experience within the specific care group/speciality.
  • Evidence of audit, critical appraisal, reflective practice, and/or research skills.
  • Sound knowledge of multi-disciplinary and inter-agency team working practices.
  • Car driver with a full UK/EU/EEA valid driving licence.
