London, Greater London, United Kingdom Bluetownonline Full time

About Us

At Bluetownonline, we're committed to supporting our residents in living independent and healthy lives. Our almshouse accommodation serves over 250 older people across two sites in Blackheath and Beckenham, as well as our Care Home.

We're dedicated to challenging ageism, promoting healthy ageing, and combating loneliness while fostering equity, diversity, and inclusion within communities. As a member of our team, you'll be expected to utilise technology to deliver consistent, equitable, and sustainable services throughout the charity. You'll embody our values and work towards creating a purposeful, responsible community that's an excellent place to live and work.

About the Role

We're seeking an experienced professional to lead our efforts in driving Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals, including Social Return on Investment (SROI). This will involve establishing, developing, monitoring, and reporting on the impact of our work, encompassing both social impact and sustainability.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in monitoring and evaluating social impact, as well as implementing high environmental standards across services and properties. You'll join us at a pivotal moment in our strategic journey, playing a crucial role in tracking our progress against new strategic objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop a system for monitoring our social impact, including creating our theory of change.
  • Evaluate metrics to demonstrate progress and drive continuous improvement in delivering services to older people.
  • Establish robust measures for monitoring the social impact of our grant-making.
  • Create and manage data collection processes to evaluate social and environmental impacts and set Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • In consultation with senior leadership and colleagues, develop and lead the charity's environmental strategy, identifying suitable net-zero transition priorities.
  • Set relevant policies and standards for the organisation to follow.
  • Formulate clear, coherent actions to reduce environmental impact and greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Present environmental data from our property portfolio: income-generation investment properties and operational properties, such as almshouses, offices, and catering venues.
  • Present data on resident services like hospitality, housekeeping, and care.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, residents, staff, and grantees, finding ways to improve the impact of all activities.
  • Lead strategic discussions across the charity to focus on sustainability and impact in all work.

About You

You'll possess:

  • A strong track record of working within the voluntary sector, preferably in impact, monitoring, and evaluation or grant-making.
  • Experience managing data identification, collection, and presentation.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills and ability to communicate appropriately with people at all levels.
  • Able to organise a large workload, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, particularly MS Dynamics or similar, to manage, collect, and present information.
  • Able to work flexibly, positively, and autonomously.
  • Capacity to think strategically while maintaining attention to detail.
  • A high level of personal resilience is required for this rewarding position.
