Job Details

We are working with a school in St Albans to recruit an SEND Teaching Assistant for a full-time supply role supporting individuals with SEND in a mainstream class. The school values every individual and creates a supportive environment for every student to achieve excellent academic results.

The successful candidate will have the ability to provide support on a 1-2-1, small group, and whole-class basis, work effectively with other members of staff in the classroom and throughout the school, and ability to support students and encourage their progression. They will also be willing to comply with the school's policies and implement them effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with complex needs in a mainstream class setting
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and other support professionals
  • Develop and implement strategies to support student progression

Requirements:

  • Recent experience working in a primary school or with school-aged children
  • A relevant Level 2 or 3 qualification is desirable
  • Previous SEND experience is essential
