We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager for Manufacturing Procurement to join our team at AWD online. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled professional to take on a challenging role in a well-established company based in Plymouth, Devon, South West England.

Job Summary

The Purchasing Manager for Manufacturing Procurement will be responsible for managing and coordinating the procurement of purchased parts and services. This includes working closely with the Head of Purchasing to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services to all production facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Place, manage, and expedite orders from multiple demand signals to ensure timely delivery.
  2. Monitor and adhere to MRP movements via daily exception reports to maintain a high level of efficiency.
  3. Maintain supplier purchasing contract data integrity within the Chess/MRP system to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  4. Measure and analyze supplier delivery performance via past due orders and shortages to identify areas for improvement.
  5. Collate and report key performance indicator data to inform business decisions.
  6. Support continuous improvement projects to drive efficiency and cost savings.
  7. Ensure master data accuracy and integrity to maintain a high level of quality.
  8. Execute and complete tactical sourcing activities to meet business needs.
  9. Input and support category strategies to drive business growth.
  10. Execute category management supplier contracts to ensure effective partnerships.
  11. Support supplier periodic performance reviews to maintain high standards.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in MRP systems and a strong understanding of procurement processes.
  • Awareness of continuous improvement methodologies and a passion for driving efficiency.
  • CIPS or equivalent qualification, or working towards, desirable.
  • Knowledge and experience of procurement, supply chain, and commercial processes.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to work with data to inform business decisions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A great attitude to continuous improvement and a willingness to learn.
  • The ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Salary

We estimate the salary for this role to be in the range of £40,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Location

This role is based in Plymouth, Devon, South West England, and requires travel to various production facilities.
