About the Role:

Southwark Council is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a School Crossing Patrol Officer. As a key member of our community, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety of children and vulnerable individuals as they cross the road around schools during drop-off and pick-up times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work at authorized crossing locations, adhering to strict guidelines set by Southwark Council and the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents.
  • Communicate effectively with all road users, demonstrating correct and safe behavior when operating at the crossing.
  • Work one hour in the morning and one hour in the afternoon during school term time (10 hours per week).
  • Consider job share arrangements where practical.
