Job Title: Associate Director (Cost Control)
Job Summary:
Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Associate Director (Cost Control) to join our Defence team in the Southwest. As a key member of our Controls & Performance team, you will be responsible for leading teams of cost control professionals on complex projects and programmes, driving continuous improvement in cost control processes, and implementing changes to cost control systems and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead teams of cost control professionals on complex projects and programmes.
- Drive continuous improvement in cost control processes to create efficiency and increase benefits to clients.
- Implement changes to cost control systems and procedures.
- Select, implement, administer, and maintain cost control systems and procedures to track project budgets, commitments, expenditures, and forecasts.
- Lead the team and provide guidance on production of accruals to ensure accurate reflection of actual cost of work performed in a timely manner.
- Provide subject matter advice and manage development of reporting tracking tools, where required, and generate cost reports on a regular basis, including evaluation of earned value.
- Define how to build and assure project forecast to account for all residual works in the estimate to complete (ETC) and development of the estimate at completion (EAC) incorporating required supply chain information.
- Manage and lead production of cost reports to a defined reporting cycle.
- Provide cost information and subject matter advice, where required, to the project team to develop status reports, keep management informed on project progress, and support performance management decision making.
- Present and provide performance recovery recommendations to relevant stakeholders and senior management to support effective decision making.
- Support T&T's recruitment activities to grow and develop the project controls capability.
Requirements:
- Experience in cost control on complex projects and programmes is essential.
- Practical experience of different cost performance reporting and cost forecasting techniques is essential.
- Practical experience of earned value management (EVM), progress reporting, forecasting, and performance reporting and analysis is essential.
- Practical experience of using MS Excel and other MS applications.
- Experience of interfacing risk with other project controls disciplines (scheduling, risk management, change control) is essential.
- Experience in leading teams is essential.
- Familiarity with various cost control tools.
- Understanding of how other aspects of project controls (scheduling, cost control, change control) interact with cost engineering is essential.
- Ability to work in both delivery and transformation projects is desirable.
- Familiarity with NEC contracts.
