Cost Control Director

At Turner & Townsend, we are seeking an experienced Associate Director to join our Defence team, specializing in Cost Control. This role offers a unique opportunity to drive innovation, collaborate with our award-winning Cost Control community, and contribute to the growth of our cost capability in the Southwest.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead teams of Cost Control professionals on complex projects or programmes, driving continuous improvement in cost control processes to create efficiency and benefits for our clients.
- Implement, embed, and roll-out changes to cost control processes, selecting, administering, and maintaining cost control systems and procedures to track project budgets, commitments, expenditures, and forecasts.
- Provide subject matter advice and manage the development of reporting tracking tools, generating Cost reports on a regular basis, including evaluation of earned value.
- Define how to build and assure project forecast to account for all residual works in the Estimate to Complete (ETC) and the development of the Estimate at Completion (EAC) incorporating required supply chain information.
- Manage and lead the production of cost reports to a defined reporting cycle, providing Cost information and subject matter advice to the project team to develop status reports, keep management informed on project progress, and support performance management decision making.
- Present performance recovery recommendations to relevant stakeholders and senior management to support effective decision making.
- Experience in Cost Control on complex projects/programmes is essential.
- Practical experience of different cost performance reporting and cost forecasting techniques is essential.
- Practical experience of Earned Value Management (EVM), progress reporting, forecasting, and performance reporting and analysis is essential.
- Practical experience of using MS Excel and other MS applications is essential.
- Experience of interfacing risk with other Project Controls disciplines (Scheduling, Risk Management, Change Control) is essential.
- Experience in leading teams is essential.
- Familiarity with various Cost Control tools is essential.
- An understanding of how other aspects of Project Controls (Scheduling, Cost Control, Change Control) interact with Cost Engineering is essential.
- The ability to work in both delivery and transformation projects is desirable.
- Familiarity with NEC contracts is desirable.
