Mechanical Design Engineer Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Bennett And Game Recruitment. As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in leading the engineering design on multiple projects and liaising with external design teams to ensure the coordination of building services design.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the engineering design on multiple projects, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results.
- Liaise with external design teams to coordinate building services design, ensuring seamless integration and effective communication.
- Provide technical engineering leadership, developing innovative concept designs and sharing knowledge with junior engineers.
- Carry out engineering design tasks and analysis, including load calculations, modeling, equipment sizing, and delegating tasks to junior engineers as needed.
- Produce design packages, including sketches, drawings, stage reports, specifications, and technical schedules, delegating tasks to junior engineers as necessary.
- Liaise with equipment manufacturers and utility suppliers to review technical equipment selections, make utility applications, and ensure they meet design requirements.
- Actively seek and understand project briefs and client aspirations, ensuring they are translated into the design.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant building regulations, planning policy, British standards, CIBSE guidelines, and other relevant standards.
- Understand the level of design required for each design stage and the scope and fee available for the work stage.
- Visit sites and liaise with contractors to ensure design intent is followed, completing site inspection reports as necessary.
- Seek and record evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) in accordance with CIBSE, IET, or IMechE guidelines.
- Be aware of health and safety issues in construction and understand the designer's obligations under Construction Design and Management Regulations.
- At least 8 years of experience in building services design.
- In-depth knowledge of building regulations and CIBSE guidelines.
- Competent with AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM software.
