Premier Group Recruitment is seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our client's team in Manchester. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems and products using 3D CAD software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop mechanical systems and products using 3D CAD software
  • Liaise with manufacturing providers to ensure timely and cost-effective production
  • Be involved in the final assembly of products and ensure they meet quality and safety standards
  • Create technical documentation and project reports
  • Update 3D models and drawings as required
  • Input parts into the MRP system and create BOMs
  • Check drawings for sign off and ensure they meet quality and safety standards

Requirements:

  • HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ / Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • At least 3 years' experience in a similar Design Engineering / CAD Operation position
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficient using 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo etc.
  • Previous experience working with sheet metal would be preferred
  • Good theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Proficient using MS Office
  • Excellent organisational skills and time management skills
