Clinical Nurse Specialist - Pelvic Floor Dysfunction
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Bowel Care Nursing team for a specialist staff nurse with an interest in pelvic floor bowel dysfunction. The aim of this post is to provide specialist care, advice, and support to patients undergoing surgery/treatments for pelvic floor disorders. It will include working in both acute in-patient and out-patient settings, involving the implementation of treatment pathways and evaluation of care given, under the supervision and direction of the lead CNS Pelvic Floor.
The successful candidate will act as a key point of contact for patients throughout a variety of nurse-led treatments and to signpost to the relevant support services to ensure patient-centered care.
The post is based at the University Hospital of North Midlands. Duties will be across both the Royal Stoke University Hospital and County Hospital sites.
Main Duties of the Job- The implementation and evaluation of care pathways of patients throughout their conservative and surgical treatments, under the supervision of Lead CNS Pelvic Floor.
- Attending bi-monthly SNM theatre sessions as support for CNS Band 7 during the insertion of SNM devices and initial post-operative programming.
- Liaising with outside agencies and representatives from supplier of medical equipment.
- Preparing and conducting Nurse-led follow-up clinics, both face-to-face and telephone in all conservative treatments.
- Retrieving and replying to telephone messages from the problem-solving help line.
- Attending and being an active participant of bi-monthly MDT meetings.
