About the Role

The Waste Disposal team at Derby City Council is seeking an Operational Support Officer to join their team. As an Operational Support Officer, you will be responsible for supporting the team in managing over 100,000 tonnes of household waste collected from residents and other activities across the city.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing service requests and allocating work to Waste Minimisation Officers
  • Speaking to residents, taking card payments, and performing general administration duties
  • Supporting the team in carrying out a range of duties

Requirements

  • Experience of dealing with public queries and complaints
  • Experience of maintaining and updating office records and general administration duties
  • Ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing, and give efficient attention to callers
  • Good standard of general education - GCSE passes in English & Maths Grade C or above (or equivalent)
  • Knowledge and awareness of the Equality Act 2010 and how it applies to this job
