SEN Teaching Support Assistant Opportunity in Southampton

About the Job:

  • As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will have the chance to work in a variety of primary schools across Southampton, supporting children with autism (ASD), speech and language difficulties, and complex needs.
  • You will provide 1:1 and group support for children with SEN, helping them access the curriculum and achieve their goals.
  • You will assist in implementing tailored learning and behaviour plans for pupils with a range of needs.
  • You will support pupils' emotional and social development, encouraging independence and confidence.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Implement individualised support plans for pupils with SEN.
  2. Work closely with teachers and staff to develop and deliver effective learning strategies.
  3. Establish and maintain strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
  4. Monitor and report on pupil progress, identifying areas for improvement.

Requirements:

  • Experience in SEN: Previous experience supporting children with SEN, particularly in autism and other complex needs.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Confidence in working closely with staff, pupils, and parents to ensure cohesive support.
  • Competitive Pay: £80-100 per day, based on experience and responsibilities.
  • Variety: Work across multiple SEN units in Southampton, gaining diverse experiences in primary school settings.

Salary Estimate: The estimated salary for this role is £84,800 - £109,600 per year, based on 200 days of work.
