We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Primary Teaching Assistant (SEMH) to join our team at an Ofsted rated SEN School in Southampton. As a Primary SEN Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with complex needs.

About the Role
  • The ideal candidate will be supportive, non-judgmental, patient, easy to talk to, positive, and flexible.
  • They must be able to speak to pupils in a manner that encourages and supports them, enabling trust-building relationships.
Requirements
  • Previous experience of working with young people is desirable.
  • Experience with autistic children and those with social communication difficulties would be an advantage.
Salary Details
  • Location: Southampton, Hampshire
  • Position: Primary Teaching Assistant (SEN)
  • Rate of pay: £13.09 per hour
Job Responsibilities
  • Supporting pupils with Autism and social communication difficulties.
  • Encouraging participation and engagement in lessons.
  • Developing trust-building relationships with pupils.
Eligibility Criteria
  • Holding the right to work in the UK.
  • Having an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or being willing to process a new application.
  • Providing two professional child-related references.
