Senior Reliability Maintenance Engineering Technician, RME CF EMA2

About the Role

Amazon Operations is at the heart of the Amazon customer experience, ensuring seamless delivery from desktop to doorstep. We have over 50 Fulfillment Centers, hundreds of Delivery Stations, thousands of machines, and tens of thousands of employees working together to deliver the right item to the right person at the right time.

This role is part of the Amazon Reliability Maintenance Engineering team, responsible for maintaining and optimizing technologies in the Global Amazon Warehouse & Delivery Network. As a Senior Reliability Maintenance Engineering Technician, you will ensure safety regulations and policies are adhered to, conduct preventative maintenance on time to a high standard, and provide high levels of equipment availability through continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Model health & safety best practices and monitor colleagues to ensure they follow the example set.
  2. Work hands-on and demonstrate SME levels of knowledge on all MHE in the building.
  3. Coach and mentor technicians on shift.
  4. Provide high levels of equipment availability to internal customers through troubleshooting and prioritization.
  5. Support continuous improvement of systems in a standard manner across the EU network.
  6. Develop and maintain good working relationships across all levels in the organization.
  7. Understand OEE and equipment performance metrics.
  8. Manage contractors.
  9. Coach and mentor the operational team on correct equipment use.
  10. On-site support and responsibility for managing and escalating high-severity tickets.
  11. Manage escalations to specialist subcontractors where required.
  12. Manage critical spare parts inventory using EAM.
  13. Coordinate and execute planned preventative maintenance on MHE equipment within the site.
Requirements

  1. Served a full Engineering indentured apprenticeship and/or qualified to a minimum of NVQ level 3 or equivalent in a relevant Engineering subject.
  2. Multi-skilled in both electrical and mechanical disciplines with relevant experience in automation or complex MHE environments.
  3. Solid foundational knowledge of PLC-based controls systems.
  4. Experience using CMMS to plan proactive maintenance and record reactive tasks.
  5. Knowledge of Statutory Compliance requirements.
  6. Ability to communicate (written & verbal) in English and the local language at CEFR Level B2 or higher.
Preferred Qualifications

  1. Proven ability to supervise and influence others on the team.
  2. Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize many different projects and workload.
  3. Experience of multi-contractor management.
  4. Experience in a multi-site environment.
  5. Experience in fault finding on building equipment i.e. HVAC, Dock Doors, plumbing and general building maintenance tasks.
