Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Radiologist to join our team at the Transformation Unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to patients, working closely with other medical professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Reporting and Consultation: Take on-going responsibility for timely reporting of patients' scans, providing a consultation service and advisory service to other clinical colleagues in other specialties within the Trust and Primary Care.
  2. Collaboration and Communication: Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with medical colleagues in other specialties and participate in regular clinical meetings and other postgraduate activities.
  3. Emergency Care: Participate in the development of the care of patients arriving as emergencies.
  4. Quality Assurance: Comply with all relevant Trust Policies and Procedures, ensuring that all trust-wide standards are maintained to improve the quality of total care to all who come in contact with services provided by the Transformation Unit.
  5. Professional Development: Demonstrate a firm involvement in Clinical Governance, Risk Management, and Clinical Audit, including the development and maintenance of appropriate systems and practices to ensure continued safe clinical practice.
Person Specification

Qualification(s) and Professional Training:

  • FRCR
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council Eligible to be included on the Specialist Register within 6 months of achieving CCT/CESR at the time of interview.
  • MRCP, MRCS, or other professional or higher qualification

Clinical Skills/Experience:

  • Evidence of extensive training in Cross Sectional Radiology
  • Postgraduate experience and familiarity of the UK NHS hospital system
  • Experience of CT/US guided biopsy/MSK Injections
  • Experience of MDT

Skills and Abilities:

  • Able to communicate effectively and appropriately with patients, their families, and other health professionals.
  • Able to develop, present, and implement coherent ideas for service development/delivery.
  • Able to work within a team.
  • Completed an appropriate management course.

Teaching, Audit, and Research:

  • Evidence of participation in Clinical audit
  • Able to teach and support junior staff effectively

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Good written and verbal skills in English.
  • Willingness to show flexibility in responding to the needs of the department.
