Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to support our Financial Controller and finance team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate financial transactions, with a focus on bookkeeping and reconciliation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily bookkeeping and reconciliations to maintain accuracy and prevent backlogs
  • Manage the Purchase Ledger, including accurate coding and posting of purchase invoices, outbound payments, and supplier account maintenance
  • Oversee the Sales Ledger, ensuring accurate coding and posting of sales invoices, incoming payouts, customer account maintenance, and AR account reconciliations
  • Assist in banking transactions, reconciling banks to accounting systems, and understanding underlying transactions
  • Support payroll preparation and posting to financial and banking systems
  • Review and improve financial processes and controls, identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency
  • Contribute to the preparation of financial information, including cash flow reporting, financial models, budgets, and forecasts
  • Participate in financial performance analysis and recommendations
Requirements
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Advanced IT skills and experience working with high-volume data sets
  • Proficiency in ecommerce, finance, and payroll software
  • Accounting qualification or working towards it (desirable)
