Job Description

Hlx Life Sciences seeks a highly skilled Data Engineer to drive the deployment of a data platform supporting cutting-edge AI initiatives. As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing critical components of the data infrastructure and pipeline development, ensuring scalability and performance.

Responsibilities:
  1. Design and Implement Data Pipelines: Develop and deploy robust, scalable data pipelines and infrastructure.
  2. Lead Cloud Technology Projects: Drive the development of data processing systems using cloud technologies.
  3. Optimize Data Storage: Ensure efficient data storage and retrieval for high-performance AI applications.
  4. Collaborate with AI/ML Teams: Support model development and deployment by collaborating with AI/ML teams.
Requirements:
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of data management tools and technologies, including ETL frameworks, database engines, and file/object stores.
  • Software Engineering Background: Proven experience in software design and architecture, extensive enterprise programming experience writing production code in mainstream programming languages (e.g., Python).
  • Location: This role is Hybrid, candidates are expected to be onsite in Oxford at least 1 day a week and the other days Hybrid London/Home.
