Collections Documentation Specialist

The University of Cambridge is seeking a highly skilled Collections Documentation and Access Assistant to join its esteemed Collections team. This exciting opportunity will enable the successful candidate to work closely with a small team dedicated to supporting world-class teaching and research by caring for and providing access to the Museum's historically and scientifically important palaeontology and petrology collections.
Key Responsibilities- Documenting collections information with precision and attention to detail
- Assisting with collections enquiries and providing excellent customer service
- Preparing objects for research visits and loans, ensuring their safe handling and transportation
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with museum collections and possess a basic understanding of rocks, minerals, and fossils. Strong communication and teamworking skills are essential, as is competence with word processing and spreadsheet software. The ability to undertake digital imaging and editing is also highly desirable.
