Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to join our team at the University Hospitals of Northamptonshire NHS Group. The successful candidate will work in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support and the East Midlands Cancer Alliance to provide specialist psychological support to patients with cancer.

The role offers a mix of face-to-face and virtual outpatient sessions, as well as some inpatient work. The post-holder will contribute to all aspects of the service, including direct clinical work with patients, supporting the delivery of supervision, consultation and teaching to level two practitioners, as well as providing support to other staff within oncology/haematology services as appropriate.

The successful candidate will have a doctoral level qualification in clinical psychology and be eligible for registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). They will also have experience of working with people with cancer or in a health psychology setting, although this is not essential.

Main Duties
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the psycho-oncology service
  • Provide specialist psychological support to patients with cancer

Person Specification
