Special Educational Needs Support Assistant

Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and flexible Teaching Assistant to join our team at GSL Education. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work in various schools, supporting class teachers with their lessons and working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Your role will be to provide one-to-one support to students with SEN, helping them to engage in their learning and develop their social, emotional, and personal wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one support to students with SEN, helping them to engage in their learning and develop their social, emotional, and personal wellbeing.
- Work in various schools, supporting class teachers with their lessons and contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with students, teachers, and other support staff to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in supporting students with SEN.
Requirements:
- Have experience working with children and/or adults with learning difficulties, including ADHD, SEMH, and ASC.
- Have a good understanding of Special Educational Needs and a willingness to learn and develop your skills.
- Be able to demonstrate a good understanding of the role of a Teaching Assistant in a special needs school.
- Have the ability to engage pupils in their learning and support them in their social, emotional, and personal wellbeing.
- Have the right to work in the UK and be able to provide an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
- Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
