Audit and Accounts Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Audit and Accounts Manager to join our team at TPF Recruitment. As a key member of our accounting practice, you will be responsible for managing audits, preparing accounts, and leading a portfolio of clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage Audits: Plan, execute, and complete audits for a diverse range of clients, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
  • Prepare Accounts: Prepare financial statements, tax computations, and other accounting documents for clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Lead Client Portfolio: Manage a portfolio of clients, including resource planning, WIP management, and budgeting.
  • Build Client Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing exceptional customer service and support.
  • Commercial Awareness: Demonstrate a strong understanding of commercial principles, identifying opportunities for fee development and growth.
  • Present Work: Confidently present audit and accounts work to partners and clients, ensuring high-quality delivery and completion of files.
  • Compliance: Ensure audit and accounts matters are underpinned by current legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Client Queries: Handle client queries and compliance issues, providing clear and effective communication.
  • Quote and Estimate Fees: Provide quotes and estimate fees for clients, ensuring accurate and transparent pricing.
  • Pitching and Networking: Assist with pitching to new clients and attending networking opportunities, championing new business for the firm.
  • Team Management: Delegate work to and mentor new trainees, supporting their learning and development.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Hold an ACA or ACCA qualification, with experience of managing a portfolio of owner-managed businesses and SME clients.
  • Experience: Have experience of planning and completing audits, analytical reviews, accounts preparation, and work review.
  • Leadership: Have experience in supervising internal and on-site teams, with a strong focus on providing a high-quality service to clients.
  • Communication: Be a strong communicator, with an attention to detail that supports the ability to work to multiple simultaneous deadlines.
