Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Support Specialist to join our busy private client team at a leading law firm in the Malton/Pickering area.

About the Role:

The ideal candidate will have legal secretarial experience, office experience, or a law graduate looking for their next role. The successful candidate will work 35 hours a week, Monday-Friday, office hours, and will be responsible for supporting legal advisers within the team in both individual transactions and as part of wider team projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting legal advisers in individual transactions and team projects
  • Attending to clients in person and on the telephone
  • Providing estimates of costs to new clients
  • Opening and maintaining files on the firm's case management system
  • Drafting and negotiating transactional documentation
  • Copy typing correspondence and documents, amending and formatting complex documents
  • Communicating with clients, providing updates and responding to inquiries in a timely manner
  • Drafting correspondence, legal documents, and reports
  • Maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion
  • Performing general administrative duties such as answering phones, managing emails, and handling mail

Person Specification:

  • Excellent typing and MS office skills
  • Previous legal admin/secretary experience desirable or University graduate in law
