About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Contract Project Manager to join our team at Arriva plc. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for efficiently mobilising new contracts, overseeing project initiation, and actively identifying commercial opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Contract Mobilisation: Assign tasks related to contract mobilisation and projects, distributing them among individuals or departments based on their expertise and suitability for optimal execution with senior leadership agreement.
  2. Project Initiation: Establish a structured framework for monitoring and achieving contract-specific KPIs, fostering a culture of accountability within the team.
  3. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align project tasks with organisational goals, promoting efficiency and synergy in contract mobilisation.
  4. Task Allocation and Management: Develop a strategic approach to task allocation when transferring ownership from mobilisation stage to Business as usual, considering individual strengths and departmental capabilities to enhance overall project performance.
  5. Project Progress and Risk Management: Regularly assess and adjust task assignments based on project progress and changing priorities, optimising resource utilisation for contract mobilisation and project delivery.
  6. Feedback and Continuous Improvement: Implement a feedback mechanism to gauge the effectiveness of task assignments and adjust responsibilities as needed to enhance overall project outcomes.
  7. Interface and Interdependency Management: Ensure key interfaces and interdependencies with other workstreams are identified and managed effectively to deliver consistent plans and financials.
  8. Bid Submission and Financial Management: Overall responsibility for the development of the bid submission deliverables relating to Mobilisation and Collaboration and the associated financials.
  9. Financial Modelling and Management Information: Work with Head of Finance to establish provision of costs for Financial Model Runs and contribute to Management Information packs and record of Assumptions.
  10. Risk Identification and Mitigation: Identify all risks associated with their workstream and implement mitigating actions.
  11. Stakeholder Engagement and Communication: Lead or contribute to discussions/correspondence with key stakeholders, including obtaining information, quotes, and formal support from third parties required to deliver the bid and successfully mobilise.
  12. Documentation and Data Management: Review data site documentation and raise clarification questions for any potential new or renewed business/bids and collate/distribute CQ responses to the wider business.
  13. Bid Submission and Online Platforms: Complete Request for Proposal templates online using bidding portals when submitting bids.
Requirements
  1. Leadership and Analytical Skills: Ability to lead and inspire project teams, providing direction, motivation, and guidance. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address challenges that may arise during contract mobilization and project execution.
  2. Negotiation and Stakeholder Management: Proficient in negotiation techniques for contract terms, service levels, and project scope. Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and team members.
  3. Adaptability and Data Analysis: Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements, priorities, and unforeseen challenges. Capability to analyse data related to project performance and contract compliance.
  4. Decision-Making and Time Management: Sound judgment and decision-making skills to make informed choices that align with project goals and organisational objectives. Ensuring key milestones are met ahead or on schedule with effective time management and planning.
