Job Description

**Commodity Analyst - Risk Management Specialist**

At Insight, we are seeking a highly skilled Commodity Analyst to join our team. As a Commodity Analyst, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective management of market risk and providing valuable insights to support business decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • **Review and Analyze Data**: Review data entry in the trading system, assess and report market risk control items daily/weekly/monthly, based on the Operating Policy.
  • **Financial Reporting**: Prepare and analyze weekly and monthly P&L reports, in accordance with set deadlines.
  • **Accounting and Compliance**: Complete accounting memos and requirements in need for compilation of quarterly financials required by the Accounting Department within set deadlines.
  • **Risk Management**: Handle questions related to market risk control items and P&L reports from both internal control and external audit, ensure market price risk is captured and hedge actions executed.
  • **Ad-hoc Reporting**: Prepare ad-hoc reports to management to assist in any area of position reporting/structure/strategy.
  • **System Development**: Facilitate the ad-hoc new system development project.
  • **Backup Coverage**: Provide backup cover as a member of Middle Office.
Requirements
  • **Advanced Excel Skills**: Advanced Excel skills and the ability to learn new systems.
  • **Mathematical Skills**: Good understanding of mathematical figures, formulas, and modeling (mainly using Microsoft Excel).
  • **Communication Skills**: Excellent communication skills, comfortable liaising within the team, Front Office, and internal departments.
  • **Time Management**: Ability to work under pressure whilst remaining calm and methodical, prioritize own work under the general guidance of the line/department manager.
  • **Accuracy and Attention to Detail**: Very high standard of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • **Interpersonal Skills**: Excellent time management skills and good interpersonal skills.
  • **Adaptability**: Flexible attitude and willingness to adapt to new requirements.
Desirable Qualifications
  • **Physical Commodity Business**: Knowledge of physical commodity business.
  • **Derivative Instruments**: Knowledge of derivative instruments.
  • **Risk Management Experience**: Experience of risk management work and knowledge of risk management terms.
  • **SAP Experience**: Previous experience of working with SAP.
  • **Multicultural Environment**: Experience of working in a multicultural environment.
  • **Accounting Standards**: Basic knowledge of accounting standards.
  • **Initiative**: Ability to work on own initiative with little supervision.
