Commodity Quant Analyst Job Description

At Selby Jennings, we are seeking a highly skilled Commodity Quant Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our commodities trading business, you will be responsible for developing and implementing quantitative models for pricing, risk management, and trading strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement advanced quantitative models to optimize commodity trading strategies and risk management.
  • Collaborate closely with traders, risk managers, and other stakeholders to address quantitative modeling issues and support trading activities.
  • Develop and maintain end-user tools in Python, providing user-friendly interfaces for in-house analytics models and machine learning tools.
  • Engage with external organizations to help them understand and utilize front-office analytics models.
Requirements:
  • Advanced university degree in a STEM subject.
  • Minimum of 3 years of industry experience in front office positions.
  • Previous experience with metals products and models is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in software development using Python, C#, C++, and/or.NET.
