Job Description

NELFT NHS Foundation Trust is an award-winning community and mental health provider. We are seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) team in the Essex Eating Disorder Service.

About the Position

The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing care to children and young people with mental health needs, particularly eating disorders. They will provide senior medical support and guidance to the team, working directly with young people and their families, and liaising with other external CAMHS providers and acute hospitals.

Responsibilities

  1. Work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing care to children and young people with mental health needs, especially eating disorders.
  2. Provide senior medical support and guidance to the team.
  3. Work directly with young people and their families and liaise as appropriate with other external CAMHS mental health providers and acute hospitals.
  4. Participate in the on-call rota with a 1:7 frequency and a Category B on-call supplement.
  5. Support peers and the team leader and be an effective team member while allowing them to work independently.
