Job Title: Functional Skills Tutor

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Functional Skills Tutor to join our team at Oakmoor Recruitment. As a Functional Skills Tutor, you will be responsible for delivering Maths and English up to L2 to apprenticeship learners in the Southampton area.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will have a passion for supporting young people and adults to improve their knowledge, skills, and behaviours. You will have an innovative approach to breaking down barriers to learning in the classroom and be able to tailor learning, support, and advice for learners to ensure each learner makes excellent progress in line with their individual starting points.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the planning, delivery, and assessment of English and Maths to individuals and groups of apprenticeship learners.
  • Deliver Maths and English up to L2 to apprenticeship learners in the Southampton area.
  • Work with employers in a work-based/training setting to provide learning and development opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with learners, employers, and other stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • L2 Numeracy and L2 Literacy qualifications.
  • Experience of delivering Maths and English in a previous role to apprenticeship learners.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good IT skills and attention to detail.
