About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Community Support Worker to join our team at Bedfordshire Supported Housing Ltd. As a Senior Community Support Worker, you will play a key role in providing guidance, motivation, support, and supervision to our dedicated community support worker team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide regular supervision to our community support worker team to ensure they are equipped to deliver high-quality care to our service users.
  • Provide professional guidance and support to community support workers while on duty, ensuring they are aware of and adhere to our policies and procedures.
  • Conduct spot checks to ensure compliance with our policies and procedures.
  • Develop relationships and liaise with external healthcare professionals, such as GPs, social workers, or community nurses, to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Act as a key worker to a small group of service users, providing direct person-centered care and support.
  • Conduct service user reviews and update care plans and risk assessments to ensure the best possible outcomes.
  • Accompany service users to appointments and assist with all aspects of care, including personal care and medication management.
  • Work as part of the on-call team on a rota basis to ensure 24/7 coverage.

Requirements

We require you to have experience and knowledge caring for people with a variety of conditions, ideally with a NVQ or diploma Level 3 in Health and Social Care. You will need to possess great management skills, with good written and verbal communication. A full driving license or the ability to get around Bedford easily is also desirable.
