Milestone Infrastructure is seeking a highly skilled Highways Operative to join our team in Bishops Waltham.

Job Description

We require an individual with expertise in highways maintenance to undertake various tasks, including pothole repairs, excavation works, kerb laying and levelling, drainage installation, and vegetation management.

  • Conduct highways maintenance tasks to the highest standard.
  • Operate and maintain plant equipment, ensuring pre-use checks are completed and defects are escalated and recorded.
  • Install traffic management under instruction in accordance with method statements.
  • Ensure accurate records are maintained, including drivers' hours, timesheets, job stock and materials, job feedback notes, and permits.
  • Support weather-related or emergency events, such as flooding prevention, sandbag/salt wick filling and deployment, clearing debris from the highway, emergency road closures, and diversions.
Key Skills and Qualifications
  • A full UK driving licence (essential).
  • HGV Class C driving licence is highly desirable (or demonstrate ability to obtain one).
  • Experience in highways or similar outdoor work, proving ability to work in multiple weather conditions conducting manual tasks.
  • Knowledge of health and safety practices and traffic management procedures.
  • CSCS card (or willingness to obtain one).
  • NRSWA qualification (or willingness to obtain).
About the Job
