Construction Cost Management Professional

We are seeking a highly experienced quantity surveyor to lead our construction cost management team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in managing large-scale infrastructure projects and experience working with complex contracts.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and administer subcontracts and design contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Coordinate monthly payments for subcontracts within contractual timescales.
  • Assist in managing changes under subcontracts, including drafting contractor instructions and reviewing notifications and quotations for compensation events.
  • Work with the package manager to coordinate change management processes.
  • Provide support to the design team on cost information for designs.
  • Collaborate with estimating managers and specialist suppliers to review and update construction stage estimates.
  • Produce monthly cost and value reports, including cash flow forecasts, for senior management.
  • Monitor and evaluate early warning procedures events.
  • Support Procurement Manager in commercial and financial aspects of contracts.
  • Offer contractual advice to commercial, construction, and engineering departments.
  • Report on contractual aspects of projects to the commercial manager.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual project requirements.
  • Analyze value engineering proposals and assist in assessing changes to accepted programs.
Requirements:
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, and ability to report at management level.
  • Experience working with NEC 3 or 4 contracts and administering NEC 3 or Subcontracts (Option A/B/C/E).
  • Background working for a Main Contractor on large Civil Engineering/infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with EU and UK legislative requirements affecting procurement.
  • Strong analytical mind and logical problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work as part of a team.
  • Committed to an accountable, cost-effective, high-quality service delivery ethos.
  • High degree of commercial awareness.
  • Proficient in computer skills – Word, Excel, Outlook, Explorer.
  • Holds a CSCS Card.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in a numerate or commercial discipline.
  • Member or Associate Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) or working towards.

Estimated Salary: £100,000 - £130,000 per year
