Job Description

**Class 1 Tramper Position at Gregory Distribution Limited**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Class 1 HGV driver to join our team as a Tramper. As a key member of our transportation team, you will be responsible for collecting and delivering customers' products on a curtain-sided trailer, ensuring timely and efficient transportation of goods throughout the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect and deliver customers' products on a curtain-sided trailer, adhering to strict load security protocols.
  • Deliver loads throughout the UK, including full and groupage loads, ensuring timely and efficient transportation.
  • Use a handheld PDA to complete paperwork and manage customer expectations.
  • Deal with customers face-to-face and over the phone, providing excellent customer service.
  • Keep in regular contact with the transport team for updates on progress and manage customer expectations.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Must hold a valid UK HGV Class 1 CE Licence.
  • Hold a current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
  • Be passionate about providing excellent customer service.
  • Working to deadlines.
  • Confident, polite, and a team player.
  • Good geographical knowledge.
  • Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be fit, flexible, hardworking, and self-motivated.

  • Basic salary for Class 1 Tramper is £39,361pa, plus up to £4,800pa tax-free night out allowance.

  • Shifts available are Monday-Saturday or Sunday-Friday, with start times between 06:00hrs and 07:00hrs.
