Job Summary:

The Ministry of Justice is seeking a highly skilled Lead AWS Data Engineer to join our Data Directorate. As a key member of our Data Modelling and Engineering Team, you will be responsible for leading a team of data engineers to design, build, and maintain robust and scalable automated data flows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of data engineers to build and maintain data pipelines, ensuring data quality and integrity.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data needs and establish project goals and deliverables.
  • Design and implement data solutions using AWS services, ensuring reproducibility and sustainability.
  • Develop and maintain automated testing, continuous integration, and deployment processes.
  • Support the Ministry of Justice's Analytical Platform users to use our data and tools.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in leading a technical team, preferably with Python and SQL skills.
  • Strong technical skills in automated testing, continuous integration, and deployment.
  • Experience in designing and building data pipelines, translating complex data sources into useful data sets.
  • Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, especially AWS, and infrastructure as code tools, such as Terraform.
  • Experience with big data tools, data transformation tools, and data lake table formats.
