The successful candidate will work closely with the Registered Manager and Senior Management Team to provide quality social care, promote service users' independence, and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Main responsibilities of the Domiciliary Care Deputy Manager include:
- Ensuring the operational management and compliance of all care delivery practices and procedures.
- Conducting regular audits and developing action plans for continuous improvement.
- Maintaining strong knowledge of CQC regulations, Local Authority Quality Band Assessments, and GDPR.
- Ensuring all staff adhere to the highest standards of health, safety, and person-centered care.
- Promoting staff engagement and teamwork.
- Overseeing recruitment processes to ensure robust staffing.
- Assisting in implementing strategies to promote staff retention and professional development.
- Conducting regular performance appraisals, supervisions, and ensuring mandatory training is completed.
- Promoting dignity and respect across the service, ensuring positive communication with customers and colleagues.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with social workers, community teams, and other professional organisations.
- Supporting the implementation of performance management and quality assurance systems to ensure efficient service delivery.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience and knowledge of home care, including leadership responsibilities. They will also possess a NVQ Level 4 qualification in Health and Social Care, with a Level 5 qualification being desirable. A full driving license and access to a car are also essential. Strong IT, communication, and customer service skills are required, as well as the ability to manage a busy workload and take decisive action when needed.
