Job Title: Performance and Development Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Performance and Development Engineer to join our R&D facility in Stafford. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engineering activity as part of our 5000 Series diesel product development activity.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Diesel engine performance and emissions calibration
  2. Mechanical verification and validation of diesel engine components and systems
  3. Defining and managing component validation plans
  4. Coordination of day-to-day engineering activity and management of test and analysis
  5. Failure analysis and defect resolution using industry-standard methods
  6. Technical reporting
  7. Support to the design function is required through FMEA attendance
  8. Occasional overseas travel may be necessary as required by business needs

Requirements:

  1. Experienced engine performance and emissions calibration engineer
  2. Knowledge of emissions measurement techniques, worldwide emission regulations and emissions measurement hardware
  3. Knowledge of turbocharger matching, fuel system optimisation and control system development
  4. Coordination of day-to-day engineering activity and management of test and analysis activity
  5. Failure analysis and defect resolution using industry-standard methods
  6. Experience in writing technical reports
  7. Working knowledge of industrial diesel engine systems such as cooling, turbocharging, lubrication, air etc.
