About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Podiatrist to join our team as a Senior Offender Health Specialist. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality podiatric care to patients within our HMP settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage your own clinical caseload, including the management of any waiting lists in partnership with the HMP site.
  • Maintain professional standards and comply with all PPH standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of your own work, including the management of patients in your care.
  • Assess capacity, gain valid informed consent, and work within a legal framework with patients who lack capacity to consent to treatment.
  • Deliver a wide range of podiatric treatments, including nail surgery, MSK/biomechanics, wound care, diabetes care, and routine care based on the patient's needs and agreed management plan.
  • Provide advice and instruction to patients to facilitate and encourage appropriate self-care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and carers to ensure understanding of the condition.
  • Provide specialist advice, teaching, and training to other members of the MDT as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Podiatry or a related field.
  • Experience working in a similar role within an HMP setting.
  • Strong clinical skills and ability to work autonomously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
