Audit Services Director

We are seeking an experienced Audit Services Director to join our team at Audit Scotland. This is a unique opportunity to lead our audit services team and play a pivotal role in shaping the direction of our organisation.
The role offers an estimated salary of £70,000 - £90,000 per annum, depending on experience, and provides opportunities to work with a wide range of clients, including central government, local government, NHS bodies, and further education colleges.
You will have the chance to mentor and develop junior staff, contribute to the overall strategic direction of our audit services, and participate in corporate activities that shape the organisation's future. Your expertise will help drive the development of Audit Scotland's audit services and ensure we continue to provide high-quality assurance to our clients.
About the Role- Leading multiple audit teams to deliver complex audit judgements.
- Developing and maintaining a deep understanding of the key issues and risks facing clients.
- Maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders across the portfolio.
- A qualified accountant (CIPFA, ICAS, other CCAB, or equivalent).
- Proven experience of managing high-quality external audits in the public sector.
- Exceptional critical thinking and sound judgement skills.
