Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic team leader to join our successful Highway Team at East Riding of Yorkshire Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a range of projects, including planer patching, drainage works, and footway repairs, as well as general highway construction and maintenance works.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of roadworkers and ensure the delivery of high-quality work
  • Plan and coordinate projects to meet deadlines and budget requirements
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and regulations
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve team performance and efficiency
  • Collaborate with other teams and stakeholders to achieve project goals

Requirements

  • Proven track record in a supervisory role working in the highway maintenance or construction industry
  • Forward-thinking attitude to ensure the service continues to build on its previous successes
  • Full clean driving licence, preferably with Category C1 entitlement
  • NRSWA Operative certificate
  • Knowledge and experience of Construction Health and Safety legislation in relation to highways works
