Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Paediatric Diabetes Dietitian to join our dynamic team in the NHS Foundation Trust. As a specialist in paediatric diabetes dietetics, you will be responsible for providing expert care to children and young people with diabetes across a range of settings.

Main Responsibilities

  • To assess, manage, and intervene in the care of children and young people with diabetes, ensuring the highest quality of service delivery.
  • To work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including healthcare professionals, educators, and parents/carers, to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  • To develop and implement individualised care plans, taking into account the unique needs and circumstances of each patient.
  • To provide education and training to parents/carers, young people, and other healthcare professionals on diabetes management and care.
  • To contribute to the development of clinical guidelines and pathways for the management of diabetes in children and young people.
  • To participate in regular multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the planning and evaluation of services.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree or postgraduate diploma in nutrition and dietetics and HCPC registration.
  • Postgraduate clinical experience of working with a broad range of patients across various settings.
  • Experience of working with complex paediatric pathways, such as enteral tube feeding, with senior supervision and support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, patients, and families.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and develop evidence-based care plans.
